Um, had a job interview with GeneDx last Tuesday. Still hoping to hear back from them, and soon-ish, since it would require a move to Maryland.
Yeah, I want this job. Like, a lot.
In other news, watched SciFi's (I refuse to call it Syfy) new miniseries Alice.
OMG, so much love. <3<3<3Andrew-Lee Potts<3<3<3 I mean, the Mad Hatter was already my favorite character from the book already, but then you have him play him? Yeah, love. Even when they gave him a gun and all I could think was "OMG, who gave Connor a gun?!"
Ooh, and he gets to play Connor for 2 more seasons again, because Primeval got uncancelled! Woo and Hoo!
Um, yeah.
Ugh, I just remembered I still have Christmas shopping to do. Ew.

I have new episodes of Merlin and Spooks (2 in one week! More Richard Armitage!) and yet I have no inclination to watch them.
Huh.
Also, the return of my favorite Seeker yesterday? Um, in a word, AWESOME.
And now I'm hungry so I'm off to scrounge up some breakfast.

Now, I have nothing against Halloween and the time honored tradition of trick-or-treating, but when a house has a) no decorations, b) the front porch light is off, and c) no bowl of candy sitting out, common sense tells you that there is no candy coming your way.
And yet I had a group of children repeatedly ringing my doorbell/pounding on the door for 5 minutes straight before I finally had to actually go and tell them AND their parents (complete with video camera to catch little Timmy's first trick-or-treating! /sarcasm) that there was no candy to be had.
Seriously, just...the hell? I knew the above 3 items listed at the age of 5, therefore a 9 year old and a group of adults should as well.
Yeah, this was my day. Along with Buffy watchage, my personal Halloween tradition.
And now I end this pointless update.

Now, dear Phillies, please win again and return to the World Series. And then win that so I can actually attend the parade and can hear Chase Utley say "WORLD FUCKING CHAMPIONS!" in person and not have to watch it on Youtube because Dad wouldn't let me cut one class.

So remember how not even two years ago my monitor's LCD screen went pffft?
Yeah, welcome to the repeat. Same. Exact. Thing. Well, no Dell is telling me it could be the vid card (which, it could be I'm no computer genius), but the fact that the same exact events are occurring (open labtop, black screen, close and open again, picture flickers on then goes black, turn off computer, turn on Dell logo then BLACK AS NIGHT!)...I'm willing to put money on it being the LCD screen again.
And of course my warranty is up. Boo. Yeah, and the Dell certified technicians at Geek Squad are going to charge $70 to tell me either it's not worth fixing because it's five years old (which means spending a lot of money on a new labtop) or it's going to cost a lot of money to fix, only to potentially have the same problem happen again in another year or so.
Booooo.
( Last night's Bones and Fringe... )
Course, now I'm stuck for next week. Do I keep it a Fox Thursday with Bones and Fringe, or do I make it an ABC Thursday with Flash Forward (Joseph Fiennes, yum), Grey's, and Private Practice (starting Oct 2nd)? Hmm, decisions.

And today I spent way too much money. But I have the last 2 CD's put out by OURS (replaced Precious, finally) and Blue October and found Charlie Bartlett at Best Buy. So, yay.
So...yeah, that's all I got.

Even more so when they are free!
In other words, I went to a concert at the House of Blues in Atlantic City with my favorite Shannon. With country bands.
Yes, I know. Amanda went to see country music acts? Willingly? Surely, the world is ending.
Hey, FREE. Plus, Little Big Town aren't all that horrible. They're actually fairly tolerable. As was the opening act (John Singleton and the Grove).
So, ya know, musical growth. Yay me?
More importantly, next Thursday at the House of Blues...BLUE OCTOBER! SWITCHFOOT! OURS!
And Shan's dad may be able to score us discounted tickets! I love when my friends' parental units work in places that benefit us.
Also, I need to stop watching Iron Man. Scratch that. I need to stop watching anything that contains Robert Downey Jr in general. At least until December. Because there's no way in Hell I will not be seeing Holmes.
And now I attempt to sleep. Good night!

Season 2 promo for Legend of the Seeker!
( Cut for plot-y spoilers, casting, and reaction in general. )
David Tennant and John Barrowman at Comic Con. Complete with kissing at about 5 minutes in, and Barrowman's rather overexcited fangirl reaction. Hee. So cute. Except for the part where I think all the screaming blew out one of my eardrums. Ouch. Now, if only I could get my hands on video of the Torchwood panel, because ( cut for CoE. )
Why do I have to be poor? I want to go to one (just one!) Comic Con someday.
And to round it out, I watched Just My Luck. Shut up, I know. B-but...Chris Pine. He's too cute. And for a Lindsey Lohan movie that's not The Parent Trap or Mean Girls, it was actually not that horrible. So sue me. It fulfilled my cheesy romcom movie desires.
Annnd that's all folks.

Like the subject line says, I am hopelessly bored. Lack of summer classes (Dear God, something is truly wrong when I wish that I was in summer classes!) or a job (Seriously, hire me. Someone. Anyone. I can make culture plates all day long, I don't care just HIRE ME!) have left me with absolutely nothing to do.
Well, except watch new/old-but-it's-new-to-me TV shows (Warehouse 13, Dark Blue, Hawthorne, Leverage, True Blood, Burn Notice (Oh my summer savior!), S2 of JAG) and movies. And send out job applications that I never get responses off of.
Plus random shopping trips to begin to put together my as yet unneeded professional wardrobe, courtesy Grandmom's graduation gift (Thank you $1000, thank you!). Still need to buy shoes, and maybe some more pants/skirts, and tops. And get pants tailored. Maybe pretty hair things too, so I can have something better than a ratty ponytail. It's an on-going process, this "Make Amanda look professional/adult/girlie" thing. It also requires input from my friends, who have jobs and/or better things to do. Lucky bitches.
Like today, for example, the highlight of my day has been emptying the dishwasher, watching Desperate Romantics (BBC's new thing. So far, looks promising, if only because there has been nothing for me to grow attached too.), calling Equifax to find out why I was denied a Lane Bryant credit card (My guess? They confused my Dad's credit with my own lack of credit.), and uploading new icons (Harper's Island, oh how I miss you already! Except for where the big reveal still creeps the hell out of me. ::remembers, shudders::).
:sigh:: Maybe I can talk my Dad into taking me to Verizon this weekend to get a new phone (cracked screens = no fun) and LensCrafters to go halfsies on prescription sunglasses. You know, so I can drive and not be blinded at the same time.
/hopelessly bored update

::looks at icon, sighs:: Remember the happy times, show? Remember the silly sex aliens, the good "ghost" stories? The cannibals running rampant in the countryside? The dodgy graphics on giant creatures with Biblical ties? GOOD TIMES.
Then there was S2. ::sighs:: ( Cut in case you were living under a rock and know nothing of last season. )
But I had hope. Such hope for this mini-series.
( Such high hopes because it started so well. )
Honestly, after that ending? Don't come back. Please. Do us all (or just me, whatever) a favor, and stay gone.

In other news, friends and I had a wine, cheese, and NCIS party last night. Course, not much wine was drunk, due to a lack of cork screw. Whatever. We made due with vodka+juice and sangria. Yum. Watching AJ attempt to do shots = FUNNIEST. THING. EVER.
And now I go watch the new Hotel Babylon and/or Burn Notice. For they make me happy.

Dear teachers,
Graduation ceremony is tomorrow - can I please have my grades, so I know if I'm actually, ya know, graduating?
Love, Me
In other news, drove home yesterday to drop off some stuff/pick up boxes to pack up more stuff. Got bored at around 9PM and decided that a 10PM showing of Star Trek was in order.
Um, best $10 spent for a movie this spring EVER. Just, in a word, YES.
Then I picked up a stalker on the way home. Seriously guys, tailing a girl through a retirement development, trying to pick her up at a red light, and then breaking traffic laws in your continued pursuit is not cute - it's creepy. And now I go back to lounging on my couch cause I am tired.

Thing I should not be doing two days before my two biggest finals: slacking off in bed. All day.
No. Seriously. All. Day. Woke up at like, 9AM, and just now actually got out of my bed.
I mean, I've gotten up out of bed over the course of the day. To like go to into the kitchen, shower, stuff like that.
Ugh. Fail, self. Massive, epic, FAIL.
Also: A on my research project (Yippee!), C+ in biochem (Ugh, I'll take it. Not happy about it, but I'll deal.), not failing my last Instrumental test (Ha, watch how long this holds till the final on Wednesday.), and not failing my Cell Bio Practical (89! And he included the words "would feel comfortable recommending for lab work." Dude, I have that shit in writing. I will expect you to provide a good job recommendation if/when I ever ask for one.). Okay, today is a wash, calling it now. Tomorrow is Cell Bio day, except for when I'm dropping off paper work at the forensics office (Judy! I will miss you, bestest secretary that ever existed!) and picking up my Instrumental test from Satan Dr. Savage's office (if she's there this time). Tuesday will be Instrumental day, until I have to review cell right before bed. Wednesday is D-Day, followed by crashing and watching the NCIS finale. Which means freaking out. Because every finale has been like that this year. Ugh. Finals suck. Can I just graduate, please?

Things accomplished yesterday/today: - Finally finished my research paper (I can has diploma now, please?)
- Got some, okay 2, instrumental labs done. To be fair, one of them couldn't be completed because I didn't have all the information needed to actually finish the bitch. Grrr.
- I will be doing some cell bio, at some point this evening.
I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but when you take into consideration the fact that the damn research paper has been plaguing me since, oh November, I call it a win. Also, ( tonight's Legend. )::taps foot:: Where's my Robin Hood, even though it's not even close to being as good as it once was. ETA:( Oh Robin Hood, what am I going to do with you? )
